I grew up eating fresas con cream (also known as strawberries with cream), and I realize its simplicity made it quick and easy for my mom. Fresh strawberries, sour cream and sugar are all she needed to create this delish and fresh dessert. There are many variations and options available to spruce this dessert up, but truly only the 3 are needed to begin.

Ingredients
Please read through the ingredients list so you can familiarize yourself with each ingredient, along with suggestions or recommendations during the preparation or baking process. Please see the Recipe Card for all details.
Strawberries. Fresh strawberries or frozen strawberries can work. Thaw the frozen strawberries before adding to mixture. I slice them into slivers, but you can also dice or leave whole.
Sour Cream. I used full fat sour cream, no need to have it at room temperature. You can use low fat or non fat sour cream if you'd like as well.
Sugar. Use granulated sugar. I have not tried this recipe with other sugar options, but if you do use an alternative please let me know how it works out for you!
Substitutions & Variations
- Substitute the full fat sour cream with low fat sour cream or greek yogurt. Substitution is 1:1.
- Use honey instead of granular sugar. It is a 1:1 substitution, but you can add a bit more honey if you would like it a bit sweeter.
- Add oats or granola to help elevate the flavor combination.
- Substitute strawberries with blueberries, blackberries or any other fruit in season. Or you can combine fruits into one bowl.
